Title: Internship in Reliable Low-Latency Communication via Forward Error Correction

 

Location: I3S Lab CNRS, 2000 Rte des Lucioles, 06900 Sophia Antipolis

Supervisor: Serge Kas Hanna, Junior Professor, CNRS/Côte d’Azur University

Expected starting date: March or April 2023

Duration: 5 to 6 months

 

Context: In network communication, latency is defined as the time elapsed between the transmission of a packet from the source and its recovery at the receiver. Ensuring reliable communication with low latency is one of the main challenges in designing next-generation communication systems. The motivation for studying this problem stems from several modern applications such as Extended Reality (XR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Cloud Gaming. In such applications, having reliable low-latency communication is crucial for real-time high-resolution video streaming. This internship focuses on studying Forward Error Correction (FEC) strategies that meet modern communication systems' reliability and latency requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will be involved in a comprehensive exploration of FEC strategies for reliable low-latency communication. Key responsibilities include:

 

Qualifications:

Salary: According to the internship gratification scale (600 euros per month approximately)
